My Opinion

I don't exactly know where to start with this, I am neither against or for it. As a student currently in High School I have heard of some effects of the zero tolerance policies. I do believe however that it is to strict but I believe it is a step in the right direction; just to large of a step. I think you need to get it in a sweet spot right between relaxed and harsh. But above all I have to say the use of common sense in the handling of punishments if most critical. This pretty much sums it up. I'd like to hear your opinion in the messages below!

  1. I agree with you to a certain degree. I believe that the zero tolerance act is a good thing and as a current high school student is a step in the right direction, but I believe that complete zero tolerance is bad for a persons character because if it wasn't for me being bullied when I needed it I wouldn't be the person I am today. I believe that bullying is a good thing that builds character and toughens a persons "skin" to the harsh realities of the real world. I say this because if a person hides behind a shell of safety and never experiences some form of bullying then when they are finally "thrust" into the real world they will be ill prepared to deal with the rigors that are an unfortunate reality in society.

  2. I agree but sometimes Schools just go to far from what is really common sense to just out right outrageous when it comes to punishments.
